A.P. award winning Amber Gerard is the night side Harrisburg bureau reporter.

A native Washingtonian, Amber comes to Harrisburg from Oklahoma City where she was a multi-media journalist at KWTV News 9.

Amber got her start in broadcast news working as a photographer at WKRG News 5 in Mobile, Alabama.

Before earning her Masters degree in Middle East studies and Development Economics, she earned a BFA in Musical Theatre. After graduating, she moved to New York City where she worked as an actress and model appearing in As the World Turns, All My Children, and commercials for NFL, NASCAR, American Express, Macy's and Ford. But her passion is being on the stage singing pop-bluegrass and classic country.

An avid horseback rider, she hopes to spend as much time in the Pennsylvania countryside as possible. If she hadn't become a journalist, Amber says she would have been a professional skier.

Amber’s favorite things are her animals, ice cream and the Golden Girls.
