Ethan Huston

Meteorologist

Ethan Huston is an award-winning meteorologist and is proud to bring the WGAL News 8 Storm Team Forecast to the Susquehanna Valley.

Ethan received his master’s degree in geosciences/broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University in Starkville. He earned his bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and minored in meteorology at the E.W. Scripps School of Communication at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Ethan joined the News 8 Storm Team in March 2014, but before that he worked at WAPT-TV in Jackson, Mississippi, where he served as the weekday morning meteorologist for five years covering ice storms, hurricanes and deadly tornadoes.

The Associated Press named Ethan Best Weathercaster in the state of Mississippi in 2013. The 16 WAPT News team and Ethan have also received Best Newscast awards from the Associated Press for multiple years. The continuing coverage of the deadly Yazoo City tornado in 2010 earned he and the 16 WAPT News team an Edward R. Murrow award. He holds the National Weather Association Weathercaster Seal of Approval.

Before working at WAPT-TV, Ethan was a meteorologist for WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi, and also worked part-time at WYTV-TV in Yougstown, Ohio and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.

He is an avid college sports fan. He enjoys both Ohio University Bobcats and Mississippi State University Bulldogs football and basketball. He roots for the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers.

Ethan is from the small town of Sugar Grove, Ohio, which sits to the southeast of Lancaster, Ohio, tucked away in the rolling foothills of southern Ohio.

When he's not forecasting, Ethan is usually outside. He loves long-distance running and is most likely preparing for another half or full marathon in the near future. He also enjoys working out at Crossfit.
