Josslyn Howard

Anchor/Reporter

AP Award winning journalist Josslyn Howard is the weekend anchor of WGAL News 8 Today and the Harrisburg bureau reporter.

Josslyn is a Susquehanna Valley native. She grew up in Shippensburg.

With a thirst for adventure, Josslyn left Pennsylvania briefly to attend the University of Florida. Not quite ready to leave the college town she loved, (Go Gators!) Josslyn started her career in Gainesville, Florida.

Josslyn was a multimedia journalist for CBS 4-WGFL. Her work focused on community members and local businesses. In 2019, she won an AP Award for best feature.

Josslyn then headed to Florida's east coast in 2019 to work at First Coast News-WTLV in Jacksonville. There, Josslyn covered everything from hurricanes to COVID-19.

Most notably, Josslyn spent a full year helping people across the state navigate Florida’s troubled unemployment system after so many lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She was recognized for getting Floridians their unemployment payments, and keeping the government accountable.

After seven years away from home, Josslyn knew it was time to return to her family and her roots.

WGAL was the station the Howard family always turned to, so Josslyn was thrilled to have the opportunity to work for the very station she grew up watching.

Josslyn loves searching for the best coffee shops and trails to run with her dog, Koda, the rescue pup that she identifies as a “Heinz 57” breed. Koda is her best friend and has moved all across the country with her.

Make sure to reach out to Josslyn on social media @JosslynWGAL to recommend the best spots she and Koda can visit in the Susquehanna Valley! They’d love to hear from you!
