HE HAS BEEN A TROOPER SINCE 2020 AND WAS STATIONED AT TROOP G IN LEWISTOWN. HE WAS MARRIED. LIEUTENANT WAGNER IS IN THE HOSPITAL TONIGHT IN HERSHEY NEWS. BEDFORD, AS WE’RE COVERING HERE AT PENN STATE HEALTH, HERSHEY MEDICAL CENTER, WE’RE ALSO LEARNING MORE ABOUT HIS BACKGROUND. WE ARE TOLD THAT HE’S AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE NAVAL RESERVE WHEN IT COMES TO HIS TIME WITH STATE POLICE. WAGNER IS CURRENTLY STATIONED AT THE TROOP IN LEWISTOWN. HE’S BEEN WITH PSP FOR OVER 20 YEARS, 21 TO BE EXACT. DURING A PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY, WAGNER’S COMMITMENT TO SAFETY IN THE FOREST WAS APPLAUDED. BUT I WANT TO STRESS TO YOU WHAT I SAW OUT THERE WITH OUR PEOPLE PUTTING THEMSELVES IN HARM’S WAY WAS AN AMAZING THING. THEY KEPT ALL OF THOSE. THE RESIDENTS, THE CUSTOMERS OF THAT STORE SAFE AND DID SO BY STANDING BETWEEN THOSE FOLKS AND AND STEIN. State police are releasing more information about the troopers shot Saturday in Juniata County.The trooper that was killed — Jacques Rogeau Jr. — was 29 years old. He has been a trooper since 2020 and was stationed at Troop G in Lewistown. He was married.Lieutenant James Wagner is in the hospital Sunday night in Hershey.We're told that Wagner, a 45-year-old lieutenant with Pennsylvania State Police and a commander at Trooper G Bedford, is recovering here at Penn State Health Hershey. We're learning that Lt. Wagner is the married father of three sons.He's an active member of the Naval Reserve, and he's been with PSP for over 20 years — 21 to be exact.During a press conference today. Wagner's commitment to safety was applauded.“What I want to stress to you, what I saw out there, with our people putting themselves in harm's way, was an amazing thing. They kept all of those, residents, and customers of that store safe, and did so by standing between those folks and (Brandon) Stine,” said PSP, Lt. Col. George Bivens.

Lieutenant James Wagner is in the hospital Sunday night in Hershey.

We're told that Wagner, a 45-year-old lieutenant with Pennsylvania State Police and a commander at Trooper G Bedford, is recovering here at Penn State Health Hershey.
