Burn ban that includes fireworks goes into effect in York County

YEAH. SUSAN THE COUNTY WIDE FIRE BAN NOW PROHIBIT IT’S ALL FIREWORKS ACROSS THE COUNTY EXCEPT IF A MUNICIPALITY GIVES WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION. NOW HERE IN THE CITY OF YORK, FIREWORKS ARE ALREADY PROHIBITED EVEN BEFORE THE COUNTY ISSUED ITS ADVISORY. AND BECAUSE OF THE FIRE DANGER, OBVIOUSLY, THERE’S A LOT OF CONCERN. THIS IS A PARKING LOT. THAT FIRE CREWS WERE CALLED TO THIS MORNING BECAUSE SOMEONE SET OFF FIREWORKS. IT’S A PARKING LOT ACROSS FROM WILLIAM PENN HIGH SCHOOL AROUND MIDNIGHT. FIREWORKS WERE SET OFF. IT CREATED A SMALL FIRE. THE AREA IS A LITTLE WET THIS MORNING BECAUSE OF A BRIEF RAIN SHOWER FIRE OFFICIALS SAY THAT THE FIRE DANGER IS NOT OVER. THESE ARE PROLONGED DRY CONDITIONS THAT WERE SEEN. SO GETTING A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN TODAY, TOMORROW ISN’T NECESSARILY GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT’S STILL EXISTS NOW, OVER THE YEARS, YORK CITY HAS SEEN NUMEROUS FIREWORKS RELATED FIRES AS WELL AS FIREWORKS RELATED INJURIES, INCLUDING A DEATH. SO OBVIOUSLY, PAY ATTENTION TO THOSE ALERTS AND TO THOSE PROHIBITIONS BECAUSE YOU COULD GET SERIOUSL
