PA state Sen. Doug Mastriano makes announcement on potential US Senate run
Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano made his decision on Thursday night as to whether he'll run for the U.S. Senate or not.
The Republican did a Facebook Live with his wife on Thursday night.
"At this time, we have decided not to run for the U.S. Senate but to continue to serve in Harrisburg. While I have decided not to run, someone else will decide to run, and someone else will win the primary next year and be the nominee. And whoever is that nominee, Rebbie and I will support them, and we hope you will too," Mastriano said.
Dave McCormick sent out a statement thanking Mastriano for his dedication to Pennsylvania and said:
"I am seriously considering a run for the U.S. Senate because Bob Casey has consistently made life worse for Pennsylvania families over the past 18 years, and our state deserves better."
Sen. Casey announced in April that he is seeking another term.
